The Maroons celebrated and acknowledged its players and fans last night at the annual awards night. Here is a list of the honories:

Aaron Meyer--1st team SS

Parker Beine--2nd Team P

Alex Sharos--3rd Team OF

And a spacial thanks go to Tommy Spillan for donating his time to be our announcer in all kinds of weather, to George Sharos for donating raffel items, pictures, time, and a great smile, and of course to Earl Bammer for donating his time, expertise on the grill and every word he could possible get in. We won't say anything about the electrical panel though. Love ya Earl. Thanks and crongrats to all the players and fans, but now we have a few battles to win in our quest for a long, I mean long playoff run.

It starts tommorrow so come on out and watch us take on Belleville East in the regional opener being played at O'Fallon on Thursday at 4pm. It should be a great game to see. GO MAROONS!!!

West stakes its claim to SWC title with victory over Collinsville

BELLEVILLE — The Southwestern Conference championship drought is a thing of the past for the Belleville West Maroons.Senior Alex Sharos went 4-for-4 at the plate and made two outstanding defensive plays in center field while pitchers Cory Renois and Parker Beine held Collinsville in check Thursday, as the Maroons clinched a tie for their first SWC title since 2007 with a 5-2 win."I'm very proud of this baseball team and what we've been able to accomplish this season,'' Maroons coach Lee Meyer said. "They've worked very hard for this and deserve all the credit for their accomplishments.
